The initial appointment will last for approximately 90 minutes. During this time I will ask many questions relating to your present condition and also questions relating to other aspects of your life. Detailed medical history along with your family history and your current lifestyle will be very valuable in determining your treatment. All of the information gathered, which will remain confidential, will enable me to see you as an individual and plan a treatment according to your individual needs.
Follow-up consultations are generally 4-6 weeks apart and last around 45minutes. During these sessions I will be able to assess your response to the initial remedy and it will be a time for you to provide information on how you have been feeling. I will then be able to set a realistic length of time that may be required to sustain normality or good health in you, the individual.
This is impossible to predict, because each case is different and an improvement depends on how much there is to unravel. A slowly developing complaint or one that has been lingering for some years may take longer to improve, although there are usually signs of improvement quite soon. Factors like energy levels, lifestyle etc can all contribute to the healing response so obviously each case is different.
I charge £50 for adults and £40 for children for an initial consultation and £35 for each follow up session. The number of appointments required will be completely individual depending on your own needs.
All homeopathic remedies are included in the consultation fee.
Consultations cancelled or forgotten without 24 hours notice being given will be charged in full.
Important trials have been carried out in Glasgow and across Europe which demonstrate that homeopathy is not simply a placebo. The experience of many homeopaths over the past 200 years is that much higher success rates than can be attributed to placebo alone have been achieved. Homeopathy has also been demonstrated to work on animals, babies and small children providing further evidences that it is not just a placebo.
Anyone from babies up to the elderly can benefit from homeopathy. It doesn't matter how strong or weak you may be feeling, homeopathy can help in many aspects of a person's life. Whether you need advice on lifestyle or just a ‘good old boost’ homeopathy is wonderful.
Pregnancy is often the trigger for seeking homeopathic treatment. Many mothers to be choose to live with the discomfort of minor complaints such as morning sickness, piles, thrush, varicose veins or heartburn because they are concerned about the possible side effects of conventional medicines on their unborn child. Homeopathy can safely ease you through the changes that pregnancy, childbirth and parenting bring. They can restore physical and emotional balance and are safe and easy to administer to babies.
Homeopathy is a real alternative to HRT, but the prescription must be individualised to the patient. Homeopaths treat hot flushes, hormonal mood swings, mild depression, headaches, itching and other menopausal problems
There has been little research in this area to date, and let's be honest, most people with life-threatening illnesses see medical specialists first. However it is important to realise that homeopathy is a complementary medicine and is frequently used alongside conventional medical treatments in such cases. Homeopathy can reduce the side effects of cancer treatments and makes a valuable contribution to the care of cancer patients.
It is not advised that anyone stops taking any medication prescribed by their GP until recommended to do so by both their Homeopath and GP.
Non-medically qualified homeopaths are not trained to diagnose conditions and so we recommend that you maintain your relationship with your GP. A GP will be able to arrange any investigative tests you may need. The approaches are different but where patients are undergoing medical treatment for a particular problem homeopathy generally works well in supporting you at every stage and the two systems of health care can provide complementary services. If you are taking prescribed drugs, we will never interfere with your treatment but you may find that, given time, you will be able to reduce or stop taking the medication you are taking from the doctor under his/her guidance. For example, we see many people who want to reduce their reliance on antidepressants and taper them off as the homeopathic remedy starts to produce a curative response.
There are no side effects in the conventional sense of additional unwanted physical symptoms. As homeopathy addresses the whole person, patients often report that their treatment has a positive impact on their lives that reaches far beyond the symptoms which initially brought them to me. After taking a homeopathic remedy it is possible that the symptoms you are experiencing may become a little worse. This is a good sign and indicates that the remedy is taking effect. This aggravation usually only lasts a short time before improvements can be seen.
The whole approach of homeopathy is to treat the whole person and to avert the onset of deeper and chronic problems by addressing the early and occasional symptoms as they are experienced by the individual.
